Welcome To The Sawnee Optimist Club Of Cumming!
The Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Club sponsors academic and sports activities designed to give Forsyth's youth a better chance to succeed in today's world. Through numerous service projects, optimists work to promote optimism as a philosophy of life and encourage the development of youth. Whether it is a scholarship to help students attend college, providing blankets for children in the hospital, conducting the world's largest Oratorical Contest, or educating our youth about the dangers of drugs, Sawnee-Cumming's Optimists are there supporting programs that enhance opportunities for boys and girls of all ages.

Oratorical Contest
Elementary Semifinals - Tuesday, Feb. 24
Mid/Hi Semifinals - Wednesday, Feb. 25
Elementary Finals - Tuesday, March 3
Mid/Hi Finals - Wednesday, March 4
Our club is running the contest the first two nights at the Board of Education Building. The morning club is doing the same at the hospital.
Both clubs work on the Finals together.
What We Need:
- Everyone to bring refreshments to the next meeting. Nancy and Char will be collecting.
- A Tabulator for 24th and 25th.
- Someone to sign up people and collect money for the DVD's
- Another Timekeeper all 4 nights
- Greeters at the door to give directions
- Warm bodies to help with whatever I've forgotten!
